
The Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body established by the Ministry of Education, (H.R.D.) Govt. New Delhi. As a result of the rcommendations of the Second Pay Commission primarily cater to the educational needs of the children of Central govt. Employees including Defence Personnel and floating population liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. Needless to say, therefore they have common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas aim at having not only a common syllabus but also a well prepared syllabus and good text books based on that syllabus. They are intended to be equipped with good libraries, good laboratories including computer labs separately for juniors and seniors and variety of other useful co-curricular activities.
The vidyalaya Provides for the studies of Humanities and Sciences and many of them are multi-purpose in character providing for diversified courses in Commerce, Humanities, Science and Informatics Practices.
The Vidyalayas impart free education upto Class VIII. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has already adopted the new pattern of School Education i.e. 10+2 pattern. |
